Google Launches SketchUp 3D Modeling Software
SketchUp doesn't have the power found in most CAD programs, but it might open doors to a new group of users who don't create models for a living. The tool comes with tutorials, and its interface and usability are more advanced and less quirky than other hobbyist 3D applications, commented Google Blogscoped writer Phillipp Lenssen.
Google SketchUp is a free application that targets hobbyists . Based on early reports, the SketchUp system is easy for newcomers to model designing to learn.
3D Warehouse, a companion site where SketchUp users can share and download models, offers thousands of pre-built models. Google's 3D Warehouse is what gives the company's tool an edge over competitors, Lenssen told TechNewsWorld.
In addition to sharing their designs on 3D Warehouse, users can place their models in Google Earth.
"[SketchUp] is meant to be complementary to CAD programs ... close to free hand sketching, but with the bells and whistles and convenience of doing it on the computer," said Andrea Vaught, an architect with Webber+Thompson.
SketchUp can import drawings along with information from AutoCAD and work between the two applications during the early design stages, she explained. Users would still have to create technical documents in a CAD program, though.
Advanced Version Available Google also offers SketchUp Pro 5, which targets architects and professionals who engage in complex design work. Pro comes with more export capabilities and GIS (geographic information systems) data support.SketchUp Pro 5 retails for US5 and comes with a free eight hour trial. To trim more than one line with few clicks.
type TR then double click space, then drag window to the desired trim.
To work with a full screen working space.
click and hold control and 0(zero), this will automatically widen your working space without the toolbar and menu, to go back, repeat the process.
To save with the Hit enter blahblah...error or bugs?
click the close button on top right corner of the window, not the AutoCAD close button. then it will ask you if you want to save the file. click yes, then save. simple! it will help you alot.
To open a back up file which is .bak file extension.
rename the .bak to .dwg. then you can open it to autocad program.
Dont put your dwg file or any other original file at the desktop.
Put a shortcut rather that the original file. You dont know if you accidentally delete or clean the desktop. you never know. sometimes kids play at your desktop and they accidentally delete it. so its a tip for better filing. to create a shortcut, right click a file then select create a shortcut.
Creating a gutter for your roof.
If you have a split type roofing or hip to A-type roof. Create a section of your gutter then create a path for your gutter. do not use polyline but use 3d polyline. A simple polyline is use only for one direction or a single way. what i mean is if you start with the hip roof then comes to gable roof, you cannot continue with a simple polyline command. Thats why use a 3d polyline instead
Creating layer for 3d modeling.
If your now in 3d modeling phase. dont forget to layer it out every different material you want to use and select different colors for easy management
Creating GIF file for your website.
Create it at Photoshop, first create a layer of image like if you make a cartoon animation basics. if done creating images, click the animation tab at menu then window, rool over then animation. Save it to web, this will automatically save it to a gif file.
its a little bit complicated but we can make this one for you in an affordable cost. A simple GIF animation will cost you about 20 to 30 USD incuding the design fee.
